Drive machines for man-riding, auxiliary, and emergency hoisting systems
Key differences:
- Man-riding systems → For shafts without hoisting systems (used for maintenance, surveying, and servicing).
- Auxiliary hoisting systems → For shafts with hoisting systems, serving as emergency rescue systems.
- Emergency hoisting systems → Specifically for shafts under construction (emergency rescue during shaft sinking).
Although these drive machines are used less frequently, they must be ready for operation quickly when needed. Therefore, a robust and simple design as well as straightforward operation are of particular advantage.
The machines are generally designed as drum hoists. Possible drive types include electric, pneumatic, or diesel-hydraulic systems. Brake actuation is carried out either hydraulically, pneumatically, or by means of electrohydraulic lifting devices – the latter being particularly maintenance-friendly.
