Double-drum hoist

A double-drum hoist is a type of hoisting machine in which two rope drums are mounted on a common shaft. Typically, one of the two drums is designed as a balance drum, which is mounted rotatably in bushings. A detaching device can establish or interrupt the power flow between the shaft and the balance drum by engaging or disengaging it. This allows access to different shaft levels. The fixed drum remains permanently connected to the shaft. In addition to the bushing-mounted balance drum version, we also offer a variant with rolling bearing support for the balance drum. This design allows significantly higher speeds in single-drum operation, as may be required, for example, during shaft sinking. The basic design of the rope drums corresponds to the description of the single-drum hoist.

Technical features:

  • High payload and operating loads,
  • Powerful drives,
  • Patented detaching device,
  • Variant with two balance drums and two detaching devices,
  • Plain or rolling bearing support of the balance drum,
  • Plain or rolling bearing support of the shafts.

Double-drum hoists provide an efficient and maintenance-friendly solution for mining, convincing with their high productivity.
